November Triple Whammy

November has been quite the month for SMPS Research Triangle! Our monthly program featured Deb Kennedy, a human resources and communication guru, who shared her insight into communicating for success. We communicate everyday. And especially within our marketing roles — we communicate with our internal teams, clients and fans on social media. Thanks to Deb and this program that helped us identify our communication style, our message won’t get lost in translation.

SMPS RT Goes Back To School

That’s right, a few of us went back to school. But instead of hitting the books, we were sharing info on SMPS Research Triangle and the A/E/C industry with some students at NC State University. These students were all a part of the school’s American Marketing Association Chapter. And it showed. They had lots of questions about how we market services as opposed to products, the role of business development and our varying job descriptions. A couple lucky students even …Read More »

Say hello to our new website!

So, our website looks a little different, right? Thanks to our board, website redesign committee, Francesca Bailey of Frankie’s Folio and feedback from you, we were able to make this happen. After September’s program these acronyms mean so much more. James Smith, Executive Director of ACEC/NC, and David Crawford, Executive Vice President of AIA/NC gave us the lowdown when it comes to NC House Bill 857. Passed last year, this authorized three new delivery methods for non-transportation projects in NC – design-build, design-build-bridging and public private partnerships.
