Diane Ditzel, CPSM


Diane is a Senior Marketing Specialist for VHB’s Mid-Atlantic Region. She prepares strategic proposals and qualifications and supports VHB’s business development efforts for public and private sector clients covering a range of practice areas, including transportation, parks and recreation, corporate, retail, residential, mixed-use, institutional, environmental, and large-scale planning.

Diane joined the Society for Marketing Professional Services in 2014 and achieved Certified Professional Services Marketer certification in 2016. She graduated from Villanova University in 2008.

Kelley Simons


Kelley is a Senior Graphic Designer working in S&ME’s Corporate Headquarters in Raleigh. S&ME delivers engineering, design, planning, environmental, and construction services from 37 offices across the US. In her role she creates the visual concepts to describe the company and its services while also managing the company brand. She has been actively involved in SMPS for the past eight years, most recently as the Director of the Communications Committee. Kelley has been in the A/E/C industry for 14 years after graduating from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and minor in Graphic Design.

Nikki Ricketson


Nikki has been a member of SMPS for over five years. She has volunteered on the Food & Beverage Committee for SERC (Southeast Regional Conference), Co-Chaired the Programs Committee and most recently served as President. In addition, she also co-chairs the ACE Mentor Program’s annual golf outing, and sits on the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce KNOW Luncheon Committee.

Nikki joined Jacobs at the start of 2019 and is responsible for collaboration with the operations team (engineers, architects, and construction managers) and business development to strategically pursue opportunities for our life sciences clients. Her role includes developing sales materials such as proposals, presentations, and qualifications that demonstrate the solutions we provide our clients in order to win projects. Nikki also works with the Director of Business Development to enhance pharmaceutical client relationships.


Jessica Urso

Smith Sinnett

Jessica has over eleven years of experience in the design and construction industry. As the Marketing Director for Smith Sinnett Architecture, she manages and coordinates the firm’s efforts in developing new business and maintaining existing relationships within public and private markets. In addition, she develops strategic marketing campaigns and manages graphic standards to ensure a consistent brand and message. Jessica has been an active member of SMPS Triangle for 10 years.  She served on the Board as Director at Large, and is currently in the role of Treasurer. In addition, she is co-chair of the AIA Triangle Canstruction Task Force and is active in several local community outreach organizations.


Patricia R. Perkins

O’Brien Atkins Associates, PA

As O’Brien Atkins Associates’ Director of Business Development Resources, Pat has been instrumental in this premier architectural/engineering firm’s growth and success since joining the firm in 1984. She is responsible for all proposals, presentations, collateral, website, photography and business development tracking and support.  Since joining SMPS Triangle, she has been an active member for 20+ years – serving various Board of Director terms as Chapter Secretary, Director at Large and Co-Director of Programs, as well as a variety of committee roles.  Pat believes in giving back and has been an active chapter mentor since the inception 4 years ago of the PUMP Mentor/Protégé program. She looks forward to further serving the chapter as the Board Secretary for 2018-2019.

Jenny Kornegay


Jenny is a Senior Marketing Coordinator at RK&K. A team member of a local marketing staff of four, and over 35 marketing professionals companywide, she is responsible for communicating the RK&K brand internally and externally, and actively pursuing new business opportunities. Jenny has been in the A/E/C industry for six years. Her involvement with SMPS began in 2012, and she has been active on the Communications Committee all along, filling various roles throughout the years. Jenny graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a Marketing concentration.

Ginny Kirk Andrews

Summit Design and Engineering Services

Ginny Kirk is the Marketing Manager for Summit Design and Engineering Services. She has been in the AEC industry for two years and a member of SMPS for two years. She has a diverse background of experience in communications, community relations, business development, and marketing. Her favorite thing about marketing is the constant evolution and breadth of the field. She joined the Summit team two years ago and manages the work flow of the marketing department, leads community relation efforts and creates content for social media. Her favorite parts about working for Summit are the limitless opportunities for growth, creativity and professional development, and the awesome team she works with. As a newer person in the industry Ginny Kirk has found immense value in the events, educational opportunities and relationships that SMPS has facilitated.

Brian Emmett

Moffatt & Nichol

Brian is the East Coast Marketing Lead for Moffatt & Nichol, an engineering firm with 650 people located in offices mostly in the United States but also in Canada, England, and South America. Moffatt & Nichol is a transportation firm that specializes in waterfront projects, particularly ports and harbors. With more than 30 years with Moffatt & Nichol, Brian began his career in engineering but has worked in marketing for 23 years. He currently leads the firm’s personnel in the eastern U.S. Brian has been an active member of SMPS Research Triangle since 2002 and has most recently been a member of its Programs Committee.

Brian is a Professional Engineer with a BS from the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering and a MS from the University of Miami, Florida.

Stephanie Roten

Clark Nexsen

Stephanie has been in the A/E/C industry for 18 years and is the marketing manager for the Raleigh office of Clark Nexsen. Shortly after graduating from Radford University, she began her career with HOK in Washington, DC, then moved to Raleigh in 2007 and worked with Wilbur Smith Associates (now CDM Smith) before joining Clark Nexsen in 2012. Clark Nexsen is a transdisciplinary architecture and engineering firm with more than 400 employees, 10 offices, a global reputation for excellence, and clients large and small, in markets ranging from infrastructure to K-12. In her current position, she supervises and coordinates the efforts of marketing coordinators; schedules, manages, and develops proposals, presentation materials, and marketing collateral; manages the Raleigh office social media sites; assists in the development of corporate marketing plans; and participates in business development and public relations. She’s been a member of SMPS since 2006, serving on both the membership and communications committees, as well as the Director of Outreach for 2017-2018.

Katie Crawford


Katie began her career in the A/E/C industry shortly after graduating from Clemson University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Communication Studies. She is Marketing Coordinator at RK&K, a full-service planning, engineering, environmental, and construction management/inspection firm serving a wide range of clients in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. Over the last four years as a member of SMPS, she has served on the Membership Committee and as Co-Director of Membership for 2017-2018.

Mary Katherine Meadows

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company

Mary Katherine joined the A/E/C industry two years ago and serves as the Marketing Assistant at The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. Whiting-Turner is a general contractor with 32 offices nationwide serving clients in various industries including science and technology, office, healthcare, senior mixed-use, multi-family residential and education. Mary Katherine develops proposals for clients along with managing all other marketing initiatives for the Raleigh office and has been involved in SMPS Research Triangle Chapter for the past two years, serving on the Membership Committee last year. She holds a Master’s of Education from the University of South Florida and Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

Lauren Guy

HH Architecture

Lauren joined the A/E/C industry three years ago and immediately got involved with the SMPS Research Triangle chapter. Initially she began in the industry as an administrative assistant and knew that SMPS would help her develop the skills and network she would need to move into a full-time marketing role. She has participated in the SMPS PUMP mentorship program and the Communications Committee for the past three years.

Lauren is the Marketing Coordinator at HH Architecture, a full service design and architecture firm in Midtown Raleigh. She is responsible for developing marketing materials for proposals, conferences, interviews, and business development meetings. She researches and responds to Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Qualification (RFQ) opportunities, and manages the company’s social media presence, website, sponsorship opportunities, community involvement, and employee morale events. As an active member of SMPS, she provides HH Architecture with critical marketing strategies.

Toni Martin

DPR Construction

Toni is a Marketing Professional with DPR Construction in Raleigh-Durham overseeing the execution of the firm’s brand management and messaging, communications, coordination of project pursuits, and client engagement events. Toni’s experience includes almost ten years in the A/E/C industry, over five years as a graphic designer in the advertising industry, as well as service in the U.S. Army, where she rose to the rank of Sergeant in the Military Police Corps. Toni has been an active member of SMPS since 2012, has participated in several committees since joining, and in 2016 was elected to the Board as Director at Large. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
