Member Spotlight: Diane Ditzel, CPSM

A Baltimore native (and therefore lover of crab cakes, Old Bay, and the Ravens), Diane Ditzel joined the A/E/C industry after graduating from Villanova University the spring of 2008. After relocating to Raleigh, Diane transferred her SMPS membership to the Triangle Chapter and jumped right into committee involvement by joining the Programs Committee. Member Spotlight: Member Spotlight: Brian K. Emmett, PE

A longtime marketer in the A/E/C industry, Brian Emmett joined SMPS in 2002. Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Brian worked for the Los Angeles District of the US Army Corps of Engineers before joining the industry in 1986.
Outside of SMPS, Brian is involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Carolina Hurricanes Booster Club, the University of Michigan Alumni Club, and the Longview Baptist Church’s Baptist Men organization.

Hailing from the white sandy beaches of Pensacola, Florida, Toni Martin has been in the A/E/C industry for seven years. Formerly a graphic designer for an advertising agency and member of the Military Police in the U.S. Army, Toni joined SMPS five years ago. A Raleigh native, Ashlin Spinney has been part of the A/E/C industry for three years. Ashlin joined SMPS as soon as she started her job at Ramey Kemp & Associates, utilizing the group as a great tool for a newcomer in the industry. Lynette, originally from Goldsboro, has been in the A/E/C Industry for over 19 years. She currently serves as the Regional Marketing Manager for LeChase Construction Services. Member Spotlight: Pat Perkins

A seasoned A/E industry professional, Pat began her career with O’Brien/Atkins as their corporate librarian moving into her Marketing Coordinator position a few years after. Prior to joining the industry, Pat was a Professional Reference Librarian in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.

Member Spotlight: Jerry Blow

Jerry is an active member of SMPS Triangle who has been involved with the A/E/C industry for over 35 years. Before launching his own architectural photography company, Jerry was an aerospace engineer with the defense department, and managed the development and testing of submarine-launched nuclear warheads. Jerry recommends that newcomers to the industry learn as much as they can about the actual work of architects, engineers, and construction professionals to give themselves a good grounding for marketing and business development.

Member Spotlight: Nikki Ricketson

Nikki joined SMPS shortly after moving to Raleigh in 2013. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Programs Committee. She has worn a number of different hats during her 15 years in the A/E/C industry – starting as an office manager, then project coordinator, and even accounts payable and receivable until she found her true calling in the business development and marketing world.
