Job Title: Marketing and Business Development Coordinator

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Reports to: Marketing and Business Development Manager

Employment Status: Part-Time / Approximately 20 hours per week

Location – North Carolina, South Carolina (Research Triangle, Charlotte, Charleston, or other major metro areas preferred)

Blue Cypress Consulting, LLC, (Blue Cypress) is a woman-owned small business (WBE/DBE) headquartered in Decatur, Georgia, providing Utility Management Services, Community Planning, Public Outreach, and GIS services and to public, non-profit, and private clients throughout the US. The company was formed in 2013 with a vision of improving the communities in which we live and work. We help utilities optimize water, wastewater, and storm water operations in order to meet or exceed service level commitments to rate payers and regulators. Our planning services help our clients build community by developing or fulfilling a vision, creating or enhancing neighborhood plans, and supporting the execution of those plans.

Job Summary

Blue Cypress Consulting is looking for a self-motivated part-time Marketing and Business Development Coordinator to support our Carolinas growth strategy. As an integral member of our marketing/BD team, your primary role will be pursuing business development opportunities leading to the award of consulting contracts throughout North Carolina and South Carolina as well as supporting marketing initiatives. A summary of the job responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:

•Develop client and teaming partner relationships

•Attend pre-proposal meetings and local government procurement events

•Strategize teaming arrangements with Principals/Managers

•Assist in the creation of capture plans

•Conduct business development research

•Represent the company at local, regional, and national industry-related conferences and events

•Prepare qualification and proposal responses

•Develop presentations

•Update marketing media and information

The Marketing and Business Development Coordinator will work closely with our Project Manager/Carolinas Lead located in Charleston, SC, to develop our presence throughout the Carolinas and will report to our Marketing and Business Development Manager located in Decatur, GA. Candidates will be required to travel to Charleston, SC, 2-3 times per month. In addition, all remote employees are required to attend quarterly business meetings at our Decatur, GA headquarters. Additional travel may be necessary to support business development activities, including local, regional, or national industry conferences and meetings with clients and teaming partners.

Blue Cypress Consulting will provide the necessary computer equipment required to perform this job. Blue Cypress offers co-working arrangements to those who prefer to work outside a home office.

Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Journalism, Engineering, Planning or a related field.
•3-10 years of marketing and business development experience in the Architecture / Engineering / Construction (A/E/C) industry.
•Exceptional client relationship management skills; Effective and personable verbal and written communication abilities with strong follow-up skills.
•Strong organizational and time management skills are critical – must adhere to deadlines, multi-task, and be able to prioritize.
•Expert using Microsoft Office Suite.
•Experience using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is a plus.
•Ability to manage, write, and produce time-sensitive proposals, qualifications packages, and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

•Knowledge of wastewater, storm water, water, and/or community planning industries, including solid understanding of key organizations, events, and related professions that enrich and support our professional practice.
•Experience working or teaming with A/E/C firms or local utilities in North Carolina and South Carolina.
